O'Malley Peak is a crown jewel in the Anchorage basin and part of the Chugach Mountains of southern Alaska, which are the northernmost of several mountain ranges that make up the Pacific Coast Ranges of the western edge of North America. Dramatic, cold and often windy! At the top, the views are as fine as any in the Chugach front range, stretching north to Denali, west across Cook Inlet to the Aleutian Range volcanoes...
Windy...unreal how windy...almost blew us off the mountain! Lost my sunglasses to an especially powerful gust at the peak.
