Wrist break

Injuries are very common for me, but this is the first time I have ever broken a bone. I have been lacerated, crushed, torn, sprained and even impaled but never broken. This is an event I would like to never repeat again…

This happened while snowboarding in Squaw Valley in a total white-room condition. I know it was my fault because we went down a half pipe that was icy in very poor conditions and visibility. I did not even know I was falling until I hit the ground on my back causing my hand to smack the ground shattering my wrist on solid packed ice. I fell backwards from approximately 4-5 feet in the air going pretty fast.

This is a few hours before I got my full cast that restricted arm movement for 8 weeks and cause massive muscle atrophy. It took a year to recover.

me unamused by all of this

feeling kind of bleak with my arm immobilized . I can feel the muscle wasting and know the recovery will be frustrating. Getting myself mentally prepared to make a comeback.
