Heather pulled some strings through her company, Turning Heads Designs, to get us VIP access to the conservation center. She has been doing graphic work for them for years and they gave us the grand tour. Very cool.

Wood Bison
The wood bison is the northern cousin of the plains bison that roams many states down-below. Wood bison are the largest land animal in the entire Western Hemisphere! A large, mature bull will often weigh 2,250 pounds versus the 1,900 pounds of the smaller plains.
Lynx
At birth, lynx weigh approximately 7 ounces but can weigh up to 35 pounds at full size. Males (toms) are about 5 pounds heavier than females (mollies). Lynx are carnivores, and, therefore, feed heavily on snowshoe hares.
Joe Boxer and Patron
After they were rescued and monitored, the two bear cubs came to live at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in 2004
